Summer Camp
Summer Camp for Kids is offered in conjunction with Active Learning Center (ALC). Click here to visit the ALC website. Children have the opportunity to practice martial arts or an organized physical fitness activity daily at our summer camp. Here is the 2011 summer schedule of weekly themes:
Week One: June 20-24 Raiders of the Lost Ark
Want the chance to experience adventures and thrills like Indiana Jones? Then this week is for you! Embark on a crusade with us as we discover clues, dig up treasures, avoid dastardly traps, and survive the pit falls of the jungle.
Week Two: June 27- July 1 Pioneer Times
We’re heading west to experience the Oregon Trail! Campers will discover what it was like to live on the range like America’s great pioneers. Learn to make candles, play pioneer games, even have a meal pioneer style!
Week Three: July 5-8 (closed July 4th) Great American Heroes
Let your American spirit shine as we celebrate our nation’s birthday and the early Americans who made us great. Learn about Ben Franklin and his inventions, John Adams and his courageous leadership, Charles Lindbergh and his spirit of adventure, Rosie the Riveter and other great Americans.
Week Four: July 11-15 Iron Chef ALC
Which Cuisine will reign supreme? Do you have what it takes to be an Iron Chef? Campers will have food challenges, secret ingredients, and a competition to see which group’s Cuisine will reign Supreme!
Week Five: July 18-22 Aargh Matey!
Pirate week is back by popular demand! Enjoy a week of swashbuckling fun as we sail the seven seas for pirate adventure, but try not to walk the plank!
Week Six: July 25-29 Sportstravaganza
Do you like sports? Can’t get enough? Then you better get on the ball and have some fun during Sportstravaganza! Play soccer, basketball, volleyball, and more during our fun filled week of great games and non-stop action!
Week Seven: August 1-5 Hawaii Five-O
“Aloha Kakou” means “Welcome to all.” Come to our Luau as warm breezes blow in the scents and sights of the islands and you won’t want to miss the party! Get out your grass skirts and join us for some tropical fun in the sun as we party Hawaiian Style!
Week Eight: August 8-12 Jungle Fun
Put on your Safari hat and take a walk with us on the wild side as we explore what lies beneath the canopy of leaves deep within the jungle. Learn about the different animals and what it takes to survive in such a different climate!
Week Nine: August 15-19 Natural Wonders
Ever wonder what the highest mountain is or the deepest lake? The tallest tree or the strongest animal? Come find the answers to these questions and more as we explore the earth’s natural wonders.
Week Ten: August 22-26 Amazing Race
Are you up for the challenge? Campers will work together and discover what teamwork is all about as they complete hunts and challenges while exploring the different lands and cultures of the world.
Week Eleven: August 29 – September 2 Backyard Fun
Celebrate the end of summer with some good ‘ole backyard fun! Play lawn darts, bean bags, badminton and more as we reminisce about our great summer of fun and top it all off with our end of summer picnic.
